Terms of Service

Last updated: December 15, 2024

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using APIPlayground, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

APIPlayground is provided as a free, open-source tool for API exploration and testing. These terms govern your use of the service at apiplayground.dev.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use APIPlayground responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws. The following uses are expressly prohibited:

Attempting to access internal networks or private IP addresses via the proxy

Sending spam, malicious payloads, or exploiting third-party APIs

Attempting to overwhelm the proxy with excessive automated requests

Using the service to attack, scan, or probe systems without authorization

Violating the terms of service of any target API

Rate Limits

To ensure fair usage, APIPlayground enforces rate limits on proxy requests. The current limits are:

60

Requests/min

1MB

Max body

30s

Timeout

Rate limits may be adjusted without notice. Exceeding rate limits will result in temporary blocks. Repeated abuse may result in permanent IP bans.

Proxy Transparency

When you send a request through the APIPlayground proxy, the target API sees the proxy server's IP address, not your personal IP address. This has important implications:

  • IP-based rate limiting on target APIs may affect all APIPlayground users collectively
  • Geo-restriction logic on target APIs may not work as expected
  • Target APIs cannot identify individual APIPlayground users by IP address

Disclaimer of Warranties

APIPlayground is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall APIPlayground or its contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service.
